Managing Director

Ms. Shqipe Devaja has been appointed as the Managing Director and an ex-officio member of the Management Board of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK).

She completed her four-year studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana. She holds a “Master’s Degree in Law and European Integration” from the International Center for European Studies CIFE/IEHEI (Centre International de Formation Européenne /Institute Européen des Hautes Études Internationales).

Ms. Devaja has 20 years of extensive experience in law and corporate governance, with a particular focus on the deposit insurance sector. She has a successful history in establishing and developing legal frameworks for various institutions, including her significant role in the corporatization of Prishtina International Airport and the establishment of its Legal Office. Throughout her career, Ms. Devaja has served as Corporate Secretary and Head of the Legal Office at Prishtina International Airport, managing complex legal and administrative processes. She has also been a member of the Audit Committee at the airport.

For over a decade, Ms. Devaja has been part of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo, where she has contributed to the creation of legal and regulatory frameworks in line with international standards since its inception. As a Senior Legal Officer, she played a crucial role in the development of the institution, overseeing not only the legal aspects but also human resources, procurement, and administration at DIFK. Additionally, Ms. Devaja served for many years as the Secretary of the DIFK Management Board, assisting in the organization and proper functioning of the Board’s meetings.

Ms. Devaja has also served as Acting Managing Director at DIFK during various periods, overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational readiness and strengthening the institution’s financial performance. She has demonstrated excellent skills in managing complex challenges and leading institutions, including DIFK, to effectively fulfill its legal mandate.

The Management Board of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK) has selected, and the Executive Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) has appointed, Ms. Shqipe Devaja as Managing Director and ex officio member of the Management Board of DIFK for a five-year term, effective from August 5, 2024.
