DIFK as a member of the IADI participated in the 45th meeting of the Executive Council and Standing Committees as well in the Research Conference with the topic “Current Challenges Faced by Deposit Insurers”

DIFK representatives, as a member of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) took part in the 45th meeting of the Executive Council and Standing Committees as well in Research Conference with the topic “Current Challenges Faced by Deposit Insurers”, held at the Bank for International Settlement (BIS) from 1-4 June 2015 in Basel, Switzerland.

The Conference provided a forum for researchers in the field of deposit insurance to discuss current challenges faced by Deposit Insurers. The topics discussed in the Conference were: research tools for financial regulators such as: the simulation of “Bail-in” tool; “top-down” approach to “stress” testing of the banks, as well as deposit insurers database developed by the World Bank, IMF and the College of Boston, USA. Other sessions discussed market discipline and debt guarantees; characteristics of the Deposit insurance systems in development  presented by states of Palestine, Mongolia and Malawi of Africa; as well as changing mandates of the Deposit Insurance Systems presented by India, Russia and the European standpoint – presented by European Banking Authority (EBA). The conference concluded with presentations on global financial security perspective.
