Representatives of DIFK attended a one day workshop on Deposit Insurance Systems: Addressing Emerging Challenges in Funding, Investment, Risk-based Contributions & Stress Testing. The workshop was organized by World Bank – Vienna Financial Sector Advisory Center (FinSAC).
The workshop which took place on November 30, 2017, at FinSAC office in Vienna was attended by the Managing Director Mrs. Violeta Arifi-Krasniqi and Finance Officer Mr. Vllaznim Bytyqi.
The workshop brought together deposit insurers from Eastern and Central European countries, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa region, EU authorities, and international experts to generate discussions and share knowledge in four key areas, which are currently relevant for all types of deposit insurance schemes: (i) funding of the deposit insurance scheme; (ii) investment decisions; (iii) risk-based contributions; and (iv) stress testing of the deposit insurance system a banking sector. The speakers were key leading experts from the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), German National Association of Cooperative Banks Institutional Protection Scheme, Finnish Investors’ Compensation Fund and US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
