DIFK met IMF Technical Assistance Mission to discuss the role of DIFK and recent developments in the Deposit Insurance System in Kosovo

Pristina, 09 September 2025 – The Managing Director of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK), Ms. Shqipe Devaja, together with the senior compensation officer Ms. Lirika Ulaj, met with the Technical Assistance (TA) Mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), chaired by Mr. Sebastien Clanet from the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM) and his team.
Mr. Clanet presented the objectives of this Technical Assistance Mission for the Financial Sector Stability Review. Ms. Devaja expressed her appreciation for the IMF’s role in supporting financial stability reforms and informed the IMF team on recent developments in the deposit insurance system in the Republic of Kosovo.
Discussions centered on the role of DIFK in financial stability, recent developments in the deposit insurance system in the Republic of Kosovo and DIFK’s strategic objectives aimed at further strengthening of deposit insurance system. The discussions also covered upcoming policy and legislative reforms, the adequacy of deposit insurance coverage and funding, and DIFK’s role in bank resolution.
