The DIFK Delegation Participates in the Annual General Meeting and International Conference of the European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI)

The delegation of the Kosovo Deposit Insurance Fund (KDIF), represented by the Chair of the Managing Board, Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, the Managing Director, Ms. Shqipe Devaja, and their associates, is participating in the Annual General Meeting and the International Conference of the European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI), organized by the Spanish Deposit Guarantee Fund, held in Madrid.

As part of the Annual General Meeting, the International Conference on Deposit Guarantee Schemes is also taking place, under the theme: “Embracing the Future on Solid Grounds: Reinforcing Financial Stability.”

During the high-level EFDI conference, important issues are being discussed that concern deposit insurers in Europe, the European regulatory framework related to Deposit Guarantee Schemes and bank resolution, in the context of safeguarding financial stability. Particular focus is being given to how monetary policy, market concentration, and regulation are shaping the European banking sector, progress on the Capital Markets Union and Banking Union projects, as well as recent developments and gaps in the proposed Crisis Management and Deposit Insurance (CMDI) framework.

During this event, the official delegation of DIFK will hold additional bilateral meetings with policymakers to promote cooperation on deposit insurance matters, advancing strategic partnership relations with Deposit Insurance Agencies across Europe.

The European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI) provides a platform where policymakers and professionals engage in discussions on deposit insurance, bank resolution, and financial stability where DIFK is a full member of the EFDI.

Participation in this high-level conference underscores KDIF’s commitment to strengthening financial stability, advancing structural reforms and the regulatory framework, as well as enhancing capacity for operational readiness in support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in maintaining financial stability and safeguarding the deposits of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
