The Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK), represented by its Managing Director Ms Shqipe Devaja, participated in the FinSAC Annual Conference 2026 held in Vienna, Austria

This year’s conference was organized under the theme “Balancing Regulatory Simplification with Financial Stability Challenges”, bringing together more than 50 financial sector experts from several countries to discuss the evolving challenges facing financial systems and safety-net authorities.

The conference focused on several key topics, including regulatory simplification and its implications for financial resilience, crypto-asset regulation, and the strengthening of crisis preparedness and management frameworks. Discussions emphasized the importance of ensuring that efforts to streamline regulatory requirements in support of financial stability, public confidence, or the capacity of financial systems to withstand periods of stress.

These discussions are particularly relevant for DGS given the essential role of deposit insurance systems in protecting depositors and maintaining confidence in the banking sector. The exchange of international experiences and best practices provided valuable insights for further strengthening financial safety-net arrangements and crisis preparedness mechanisms.
