The Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK) has published its Annual Report for 2024, presenting the DIFK’s key achievements and progress toward its strategic objectives for strengthening the deposit insurance system in the Republic of Kosovo.
Developments in the deposit insurance system during 2024 were characterized by positive deposit insurance and financial performance indicators.
As of December 31, 2024, total deposits reached €6.96 billion with an increase of 14.3%. At the end of 2024, DIFK provided a coverage to 99.9 % of depositors in the banking sector. The total amount of insured deposits by the end of 2024 reached € 1.43 billion, up from € 1.26 billion at the end of 2023.The Deposit Insurance Fund recorded a positive growth, reaching a level of € 77.6 billion. As of December 31, 2024, the total balance of the Deposit Insurance Fund was €77.6 million. The growing deposit insurance fund contributes to deposit insurance of depositors and overall financial stability.
DIFK extends its gratitude to the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers as key actors within the financial safety net, to the Kosovo Banking Association as the representative of the banking industry, and to the member banks of the deposit insurance system for their support in the successful implementation of DIFK’s strategic priorities
